40B/Comprehensive Permit Hearing for Thorndike Place

(Christian Klein, ZBA Chair) Mr. Klein says that a member of the applicant's team was unable to make it tonight, due to a family emergency. They're requesting a continuance, and have agreed to extend the 180-day hearing period by 14 days.

One member of the public raises his hand. He'd like to speak about the continuance.

(John Yurewicz) Mr. Yurewicz is skeptical that one of the petitioners had a family emergency. He's disappointed that they're not here tonight.

(Christian Klein) Mr. Klein informs Mr. Yurewicz that a member of the petitioner's team had a death in the family. That's why they're not here tonight.

There's a motion to extend the 180-day hearing period by 14 days. Passes.

There's a motion to continue the hearing to April 8th, at 6:30 pm. Passes.

The board's current schedule includes Thorndike place on April 8th, and 1165R Mass Ave on April 13th. There are three additional (continued) hearings scheduled for April 13th.

(Rick Vallarelli) Mr. Vallarelli informs the board that there are four more special permits and one variance in the pipeline.

A member of the public has a question about the process for the remainder of the Thorndike place application.

(Steve Moore) Mr. Moore asks what activities will take place before and after the hearing closes.

(Christian Klein) Mr. Klein says the April 23rd is the formal end of the hearing process. The board can take comments and testimony until that time, but not afterwards. Once the hearing is closed, the board has 40 days to deliver a decision. They board can't accept additional testimony during that 40-day period.

Meeting adjourned.
